For any use where the phone will go underwater, choose an IPX8 pouch with a stated depth. What About Keys, Cards and Documents?

Air finds gaps that water would take minutes to reach, so this catches pinholes and weak seals before packing. Locks are cycled for wear, lanyard points are pull-tested, and film is checked for clarity, colour and cold cracking. When customers inspect shipments, we follow the full procedure of unboxing, vacuum extraction, a 24-hour static rest and an air-leak determination.

What does IPX8 mean on a phone pouch?

IPX8 means continuous immersion beyond one metre under conditions set by the manufacturer. Because the standard does not fix a depth, always look for the tested depth. Our IPX8 pouches are rated to 30 metres.

Can I take photos underwater through a phone pouch?

Yes. Open the camera before going underwater and use the volume button as the shutter, because touchscreens do not respond reliably underwater. Pouches with a separate rear camera window give clearer photos.

Do waterproof phone pouches float?

A pouch with a phone inside only floats if enough air is trapped inside, which cannot be relied on. For water sports, add a floating strap or float lanyard.
